Moving & Logistics Coordinator Job Description
Moving & Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for overall dispatch and communications with our fleet drivers. Providing quotes, pick-up, and delivery of freight that proves beneficial to customers and company. They will ensure equipment and driver availability, using them to the maximum efficiency by monitoring freight movement, communication with drivers, and all other aspects of dispatching.
Moving & Logistics Coordinator Job Responsibilities
Communicating with customers and vendors
Scheduling appointments for drivers
Building driver loads
Keep track of company trucks via online tracking system
Monitor drivers are properly using ELD Devices
Process all freight orders into database
Schedule vehicles with Mechanics for weekly service
Provide oversight to Logistics Administrator for all billing and internal reporting
Provide after-hours phone support for drivers
Other projects and tasks as assigned by manager
Moving & Logistics Coordinator Job Requirements
Education: HS Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree a plus Experience: Minimum 2 years dispatching experience
Communication: Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently; Spanish speaking is a plus.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and positively with customers, vendors and employees
Computer: Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office & related spreadsheet and database software.
Must be highly organized, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Strong creative problem solving, reasoning and decision-making skills in a team environment
Effective negotiating skills
Dedicated commitment to providing superior, timely internal and external client support
Ability to clearly identify the customer's current and future needs and present transportation solutions to them
